Why independent media are essential today

Today, the majority of the press in France is not truly independent:

A handful of billionaires own a large majority of national, regional, broadcast, and digital media outlets. This massive concentration—where a few individuals control television channels, newspapers, and radio stations—undermines the diversity of viewpoints and opens the door to economic and political influence on the public narrative .

The concentration of media ownership limits pluralism

When a few private actors decide on the content that dominates the media, the plurality of opinions is reduced . Fewer different voices mean fewer real debates on social, environmental, or political issues.

Ideological influence and political bias

Media outlets owned by financiers or industrialists can—intentionally or unintentionally—steer narratives, downplaying certain topics or amplifying others, according to their interests or affiliations. In some cases, this dynamic can even favor narratives close to the far right or strong conservatives , reducing the space for independent critical analysis.

A widespread lack of trust

Concentration and perceived influence have contributed to a strong distrust of traditional media. A significant portion of the population now doubts that the information provided is complete, accurate, or unmanipulated.

The alternative: getting information from a different source

Independent media represent a concrete response to these problems. Unlike large groups owned by private fortunes or powerful financial interests, these media outlets:

claim total editorial autonomy from political, economic or ideological pressures;

They exist thanks to subscriptions and citizen support, not advertising revenue or industrial sponsorships;

They address topics often absent from mainstream media : social injustices, environmental deregulation, citizen struggles, digital freedoms, etc. Getting informed through these media means rejecting homogenized and controlled information in favor of critical, diverse and courageous voices.

To resist today is to support free information

Resistance is not simply a matter of ideological stance:

The aim is to preserve the fundamental right to pluralistic, transparent and independent information , which is essential to any living democracy.
It is also about supporting those who, every day, investigate, question and expose realities that others prefer to ignore or suppress.

THERAPY FOR EARTH exists for those who refuse to accept powerlessness.

We cannot change the world alone.
But every boycott, every choice, every message conveyed, every refusal of overconsumption tips the scales. History has proven it: change always comes from the grassroots.

The Earth is burning. But as long as we refuse to remain silent, there is still hope.

Welcome to our world
